THERE'S A DIZZYING BOUNTY of vacation possibilities waiting for you. Unsure where to start? Don’t be overwhelmed. Journeys by CAA Niagara helps simplify the process. Begin by pinpointing the type of vacation you prefer — and discover your Journeys travel personality. If your idea of a great vacation involves everything sports, how about taking in a game (or three) with like-minded travellers? “We’ve organized everything, from trips to see the Toronto Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show!” enthuses Lois Sarkisian, CAA Niagara’s group tours manager. Prefer a traditional tour with lots of scheduled activities? You might just be a Tuxedo Classic traveller, one who appreciates a well-organized itinerary. The Tuxedo Classic Tour lets you socialize with the group to sightsee and share wonderful dining experiences. Check out the popular Agawa Canyon Tour Train option, which travels to Northern Ontario and includes a lake cruise, train journey and a visit to a bush-plane museum and the Big Nickel, a gigantic replica of a 1951 Canadian nickel. Outdoor enthusiasts should focus in on the Adventure Tour, perhaps opt to fly to Iceland and explore a live volcano. “You’re going to see more of the beauty of the place you’re visiting,” Sarkisian says. “We even go behind waterfalls. And on a cruise on a glacier lake, you can drink fresh water, right from the glacier!” If the main goal of your getaway is to spend more quality time with your clan, consider Journeys’ Family Tour, replete with fun educational activities complemented by family-oriented stays. A New York City jaunt, for example, offers accommodations close to Times Square and the perfect mix of adventures and free time to explore the Big Apple. Meanwhile, the Relaxation Tour will entice travellers who just want to chill and recharge. Score some zzz’s and enjoy a slower travel pace. Sarkisian’s advice: Set sail on a river or ocean cruise. “Once you get on the ship, you can [just] unpack and not worry about packing up again. CAA
