Spend the season in Rio and live your best bossa nova life under the radiant sun. With long-stay options, a vibrant culture and some of the world’s most iconic beaches including Copacabana, you can call this postcard-perfect city your home and escape for the whole winter.

Travel tip: Rio Carnival, from February 13 to 21, 2026, is known as the world’s biggest Carnival, including blocos (street parties) and parades celebrated with elaborate costumes and events. Over 2 million revellers fill the streets each day, so booking early is the best way to join in the fun. Don’t forget to order your costumes early if you plan to attend a bloco, Carnival gala or take part in a parade.

If you like piña coladas (you can skip getting caught in the rain), this 120-kilometre sunny stretch of Mexico is made for indulgence. All-inclusive resorts, white sand beaches and Mayan ruins nearby mean you can relax, explore, or both, with a refreshing beverage in hand.

Travel tip: Since it’s a popular destination for sun-seekers looking for a little bit of paradise, you can enjoy the all-in pricing of flight, accommodation, food and drink. Explore your options for off-resort excursions to pristine cenotes, ruins and town markets. Secure the best beachfront suites by planning early.

For something between a quick trip and a long escape, Trinidad and Tobago offers an ideal middle ground. Carnival culture, wild beaches, and laid-back charm make it easy to slip into the rhythm of island life. Offering plenty to explore, you can island hop to enjoy it all, from beaches and sunset cruises to bird watching, waterfalls and street parties. Don’t miss trying the bake and shark sandwich!

Travel tip: Experience Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool in the southwestern part of Tobago. Take a glass-bottom boat tour and explore the beauty of the coral reef, then find relaxation and rejuvenation in the warm, clear waters of this natural shallow pool in the Caribbean Sea.

“Bamboleo” by Gipsy Kings

The beaches of the Costa del Sol — the sun coast — are dreamy, but so are the cobbled streets, flamenco shows, and Andalusian festivals. From Málaga’s art scene to sherry tastings in Jerez de la Frontera, this region offers more than just coastal allure: it blends culture, art and the spectacular Mediterranean with irresistible flair.

Travel tip: Rent a car to explore the storied surroundings, including the whitewashed pueblos blancos and the majestic cliffs of Caminito del Rey.
