A LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Changing of the Guard

ON BEHALF OF the Board of Directors, it is both an honour and a heartfelt moment as I share that Peter Van Hezewyk, our President & CEO, will be transitioning out of his role after eight incredible years of leading CAA Niagara.

Since becoming CEO in 2017, Peter has guided us through some of our most transformative years. From the start, his passion for CAA and the Niagara region was unmistakable. He set ambitious goals — like reaching 150,000 Members and 50% household penetration in just five years. Despite the global challenges of a pandemic, Peter made those goals a reality. Under his leadership, revenues have more than doubled, our Member satisfaction scores are among the best in the federation, and our community footprint has never been stronger.

Peter’s leadership has been defined by strategic foresight and personal integrity. He has always believed in putting Members first. Through acquisitions such as Niagara Airbus and the AAPEX Driving Academy, he diversified our business and elevated the Member experience. He cultivated a culture where every employee was accountable to our mission: delivering value, safety and trust.

More than metrics, Peter brought heart to this organization. He believed that leadership meant service — to our Members, to our employees, and to Niagara. Programs such as Community Boost, and the $1 million pledge to Feed Niagara were born from his belief that CAA should be a force for good in the region.

In every interaction — whether walking the halls or making hard decisions — Peter demonstrated calm, compassion and purpose. His quiet strength and optimism, even through personal health challenges, have inspired all who have worked alongside him.

As we look to the future, we do so on the foundation Peter built: strong, steady and Member-focused.

Thank you, Peter, for your exceptional leadership, your vision, and your unwavering commitment to those we serve.

With gratitude,

Looking Forward to What Lies Ahead

IT IS AN INCREDIBLE HONOUR to introduce myself as the new President and CEO of CAA Niagara.

I’m humbled to step into this role and proud to lead an organization that has been trusted by Members across Niagara for generations. Whether it’s roadside support, trip planning, insurance, advocacy or savings, CAA Niagara has always been about helping you live with confidence and peace of mind. That purpose is what drew me to this organization six years ago, and it continues to guide my work today.

I bring over two decades of experience leading strategy, marketing and service excellence in both the private and nonprofit sectors, always with a focus on delivering value through insight, collaboration and integrity.

I want to thank Peter Van Hezewyk for his years of thoughtful leadership. His dedication to our people-first culture, bold goals and clear direction has left a powerful legacy, one that I’m honoured to carry forward.

To you, our Members: thank you. Your continued support drives us to keep improving. We’re focused on bringing you even more value, creating meaningful experiences and helping move Niagara forward through innovation, advocacy and community connections.

Outside of work, I stay grounded through community involvement. I serve on the boards of the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival and the Niagara Safety Village. I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters Niagara and am a dedicated plasma donor. In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Women in Business Award for Corporate Leadership from the Women in Niagara Council and the GNCC — an experience that reminds me how important it is to lead with heart.

Thank you for being a valued part of the CAA Niagara community. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. CAA
